Fizz & Pop Science: An Intro to Chemistry

Course Date & Time:

Sundays at 5:00pm EST — May 3, 10, 17, 24

40 minute Zoom Session

Chemistry Is Happening All Around You

Chemistry isn’t just in a lab, it’s part of everyday life.

In Fizz & Pop Science, kids explore the chemistry they see and use all around them. They discover how soap cleans, how bread rises with yeast, how cooking changes food, and how colorful reactions happen in surprising ways. Big ideas turn into fun, memorable “wow!” moments kids recognize from their own world.

Children explore acids, bases, and color-changing reactions using safe, familiar materials. With red cabbage juice as a natural indicator, kids watch colors change, create bubbly eruptions using lemons and baking soda, and test everyday liquids like soap and water. Each activity feels playful, colorful, and exciting.

Through mixing, fizzing, bubbling, and observing, kids learn how small changes create big reactions. Chemistry becomes joyful, hands-on, and full of discovery.
